On Conscious Living
To be conscious is to live in the present moment (easier said than done, right?)
It involves asking ourselves questions such as:
– How is my body feeling today?
– What is my mood right now?
It also includes watching our thoughts, which is a habit that can be learned through the practice of meditation.
It seems like a lot of work, and it certainly IS. It’s a path that leads to a much fulfilling life.
To be awakened also includes questioning our surroundings and actions, asking ourselves why we do something instead of just doing because we are supposed to or society tells us to do so…
These are only some examples of what is to live a conscious life.
By cultivating our inner selves, we certainly can have healthier relationships with fellow humans and with the whole existence.
